In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Smith, Weeks and Hood families to announce SPC Natasha Shardae’ Hood, age 37, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Tash”. 

Ms. Hood transitioned from labor to reward, February 24, 2023 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. 

Natasha was born in Essex County, New Jersey, August 22, 1985, to the living Mr. George William Smith, Jr. and Mrs. Jill Yvonne Weeks-Smith.

Natasha received her education in the Wayne County Public School System.  She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, North Carolina, in the Class of 2002.

After graduation, Tasha served her country by enlisting into the United States Army.  She served two tours in Iraq.  After Tasha’ military service, she was honorably separated from the United States Army. 

During her employment years, Ms. Hood served as a Postal Engineer for the United Stated Postal System in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

At an early age, Ms. Hood served God faithfully as an active member of The Word Faith Center Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina.  She served as an active Praise and Worship Team Leader under the leadership of Bishop William Phillips..

Ms. Hood was preceded in death by her sister, Ms. Shaddiyah Weeks; her maternal grandparents, Ms. Mary Lewis and Mr. Alexander Weeks, Sr. and her grandfather, Mr. George Smith, Sr.

A “Memorial” visitation will be held, Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. at The Word Faith Center, 296 Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530.

Also a “Memorial” Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Word Faith Center, 296 Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530.  Bishop William Phillips will officiate.

Ms. Natasha leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories to her parents, Mr. George William Smith, Jr. and Mrs. Jill Yvonne Weeks-Smith of Mount Olive, North Carolina; her three brothers, Mr. Trey Smith of Mount Olive, North Carolina, Mr. Elroy Campbell and Mr. Christopher Campbell both of New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs. Nicole Campbell of Georgia and Mrs. Chaunti N. Wells of Virginia; her four uncles, Mr. Alexander Weeks, Jr. and wife, Mrs. Regina, Mr. Steven Weeks, Mr. John Hood, Jr. and Mr. Donald Hood; her six aunts, Mrs. Deborah Exum and husband, Mr. Elvin, Mrs. Robin Andrews and husband, Mr. Carl, Mrs. Bobette Smith, Mrs. Debbie Anthony and husband, Mr. Timmie, Mrs. Linda P. Floyd and Mrs. Natalie McClinton; her great-aunt, Mrs. Carolyn Forbes and husband, Mr. Donald; her two nephews, Mr. Ezekiyal Weeks and Mr. Octavious Weeks of Kyle, Texas; her god-daughter, Mrs. Kaleya Williams; her close friends, Ms. Latiea Brice, Ms. Sarah Gavin, Ms. Latoya Hannon, Ms. Okisha Wells and Mr. Will Phillips and host of other relatives and friends.

Saturday, March 4, 2023, the family members and friends will assemble at The Word Faith Center, 296 Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530, at 9:20 a.m., in preparation for the family lineup.
