In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Murphy, Gardner and Kittrell families to announce Ms. Zennie Michelle Kittrell of La Grange, North Carolina, age 57, has completed her earthly journey.  Ms. Kittrell transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, North Carolina. `

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Baba”. 

Zennie was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, September 25, 1965, to the late Mr. George Kittrell, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Murphy-Kittrell.

She was educated in the Lenoir County Public School System.   Zennie attended and graduated form North Lenoir High School in the Class of 1985.

During Ms. Kittrell working years, she worked as a Yarn Technician at La Grange Manufacturing Company. 

Baba enjoyed walking and listening to her favorite “Old School” music. She was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Zennie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. George Kittrell, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Murphy-Kittrell and  her brother, Mr. Zeno Kittrell.

A public visitation will be held, Monday, January 9, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Dr. Carrie Carter will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Ms. Kittrell leaves to cherish her precious memories to her two sons, Mr. Garry Gardner and Mr. Terrell Gardner of the home in La Grange, North Carolina; her six sisters, Mrs. Beverly Brown of Wilson, North Carolina, Ms. Betty Kittrell and Ms. Elizabeth Kittrell both of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Alice Brown and husband, Charles of Brown Town, North Carolina, Mrs. Helen Owens of Camden, New Jersey and Mrs. Ethel Moore and husband, Theodore of Grifton, North Carolina; her five brothers, Mr. George Kittrell, Jr. and wife, Mary of Kinston, North Carolina, Mr. Willie L. Kittrell of Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Timmy Kittrell of La Grange, North Carolina, Mr. Cornell Daniels and wife, Sonya of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Mr. Archie Moore and wife, Susan of Ayden, North Carolina; her aunt, Ms. Agatha Kittrell of Kinston, North Carolina; her double cousins, Ms. Ada Mae Kittrell and Mrs. Wilhemenia Walker both of La Grange, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.  

Monday, January 9, 2023, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Ms. “Baba” in La Grange, North Carolina 28551, at 12:00 p.m., in preparation for the Family line-up and the procession to the Funeral Home.
