In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Wooten, Washington, Joyner and Ms. Splendor families to announce Ms. Lolita Renay Joyner, age 55, of La Grange, North Carolina has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Lo Lo”. 

Ms. Joyner transitioned from labor to reward, October 9, 2022, at her residence in La Grange, North Carolina. 

Lolita was born in Washington, District of Columbia, March 12, 1967, to the late Mr. Fred Joyner and the living Mrs. Barbara Wooten-Joyner.

She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System. 

Lolita graduated from North Lenoir High School in the Class of 1986.

She worked as a Healthcare Engineer for the Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston, North Carolina.

Her favorite past times were scrolling Facebook, watching YouTube and going out to eat with her children, mom, grandson and sister.

Ms. Joyner loved her family members, her furry baby, Ms. Splenda and her friends.  Also, she loved family outings with her family members and friends.

Lolita is preceded in death by her father, Fred McCoy Joyner Sr., her brother, Fred McCoy Joyner II; first grandson, Noah McCoy Highsmith; paternal and maternal grandparents; brother-in-law, Earl Garner; very special friend, Aaron King and her first furry baby, Caine Joyner.

A public visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. in the Rouse’s Chapel Church, 4813 Rouse Chapel Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.   Apostle LaRonte’ C. Bryant will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Ms. Joyner leaves to cherish precious and loving memories to her mother, Mrs. Barbara Joyner; her daughters, Mrs. Tameka Joyner Washington and Ms. Danielle Joyner; her son, Mr. Jocques Joyner; her furry baby, Ms. Splenda Joyner; her grandson, Mr. Karter Highsmith; her sister, Mrs. Debra Garner; her aunts, Mrs. Mae Kittrell and Mrs. Wilhemia (Pink) Walker; her niece, Ms. Ashley Garner; her nephews, Mr. Antwaun Garner and wife, Mrs. Nicole, Mr. Fred Joyner III, Mr. Dyrack Cabell and Mr. Darius Cabell; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Cynthia Joyner; her special cousins; her special friends, Mrs. Tonya Evans, Mrs. Veronica Joyner, Mrs. Debra McLaurin, Mrs. Peaches Kittrell, Mrs. Jessica Cash and a host of family members, friends and loved ones!

Sunday, October 16, 2022, the family members and friends will assemble at  the residence of Mrs. Debra Garner, 206 Charles Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551, at 12:15 p.m., in preparation for the funeral procession to Rouse’s Chapel Church, 4813 Rouse Chapel Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning Friday morning, October 14, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
