In profound sorrow, Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Jones, Speight, Taylor and Kittrell families to announce Ms. Cherie LaCole Kittrell of La Grange, North Carolina, age 49, has completed her earthly journey.
Ms. Kittrell transitioned from labor to reward, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Health Care Hospital in Kinston, North Carolina.
Ms. Cherie LaCole Kittrell was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Cher.”
Cherie was born in Lenoir County, March 1, 1974, to the living Mr. Harry Speight and the living Ms. Ada Mae Kittrell.
She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System and graduated from North Lenoir High School in the Class of 1993.
While attending high school, Ms. Kittrell participated in sports. She played volleyball and basketball.
After graduation, Cher furthered her education by enrolling and attending Lenoir Community College’s Cosmetology Program in Kinston, North Carolina.
Ms. Kittrell’s family life was filled with excitement. She enjoyed spending time with her family members, her mother, her second (2nd) mother, her sons, her special friend, her relatives and other friends.
Cher enjoyed family cookouts in which she bossed everyone around. She enjoyed making lemonade which was a special treat.
In 1998, Cher began her employment at Wall Lenk Corporation in Kinston, North Carolina. As the years passed, she was honored and promoted to supervisor of her department.
Ms. Cher was preceded in death by both of her grandparents, Mr. Will Kittrell and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth and Mr. Aaron Speight and his wife, Mrs. Carrie; her uncles, Mr. Cardell Joyner and Mr. LaGrant Walker; her aunts, Mrs. Julia Jones and Mrs. Judy Dawson.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in Rouse’s Chapel Baptist Church, 4813 Rouse Chapel Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Rouse’s Chapel Baptist Church, 4813 Rouse Chapel Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. Apostle LaRonte’ C. Bryant, Sr. will officiate.
Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
Ms. Kittrell leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her two sons, Mr. Jeremiah Jones and Mr. Quincy Jones both of La Grange, North Carolina; her grandson, Mr. Kaiden Jones of La Grange, North Carolina; her mother, Ms. Ada Mae Kittrell of La Grange, North Carolina; her father, Mr. Harry Speight and wife, Mrs. Vanessa of Jason, North Carolina; her life partner, Mr. Jamie Taylor of La Grange, North Carolina; her brothers, Mr. Tyrone Kittrell and wife, Mrs. Thomasina of La Grange, North Carolina, Mr. Tavares Kittrell and wife, Mrs. Sheila of Kinston, North Carolina, Mr. Tavis Speight of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr. Erick Speight of Jason, North Carolina, Mr. La Grant Walker and wife, Mrs. Amy of Grifton, North Carolina and Mr. Orlando Walker and wife, Mrs. Mitzi of La Grange, North Carolina; her sisters, Mrs. Sharitta Minor and husband, Mr. Mike of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ms. Niokie Kittrell of La Grange, North Carolina and Mrs. Shenique Walker of Raleigh, North Carolina; her aunts, Mrs. Wilhemia Walker of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Geraldine Pridgen of Jason, North Carolina, Mrs. Lorraine Supel of La Grange, North Carolina and Mrs. Barbara Joyner of La Grange, North Carolina; her uncles, Mr. John Jones of New Bern, North Carolina and Mr. Pete Darden of Connecticut; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Ms. Ada Mae Kittrell, 110 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession to the church.
Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning Monday morning, October 16, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
