Mrs. Lillie Best Sutton

June 30, 1945 – February 27, 2017

Mrs. Lillie Best Sutton, age 71, of 3731 Hickorynut Drive, La Grange, NC, departed her earthly life on Monday, February 27, 2017, at her residence.

Lillie was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina on June 30, 1945.  

She was born to the late Mr. Walter Best and Mrs. Mable Harris Best.

Lillie attended the Lenoir County Public School System.

During Mrs. Sutton working years, she was employed with the Caswell Center Foundation in Kinston, NC where she served as a Developmental Technician.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. in the Rouse’s Chapel Baptist Church, 4813 Rouse Chapel Road, La Grange, NC.  Pastor Charles H. Kittrell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Saint Matthew Church Cemetery, 2758 Jenny Lind Road, La Grange, NC.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017, in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sister Sutton leaves a legacy of love and memories to her two daughters, Shemenia Renay Best of La Grange, NC and Erica Benita Edwards (Sabrina) of Kinston, NC; two grandsons, Eric Tramon Best of La Grange, NC and Jaden Christopher Livingston of Kinston, NC; three brothers, Walter Rouse (Ernestine) and James Walter Best all of La Grange, NC and Mingo Davis (Veronica) of Goldsboro, NC; five special friends, Oretha Gray (her hairdresser) and adopted sister, Magdeline Moseley , Helen Jones (her neighbor and gardening buddy), Lillie Best and Hazel Braswell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Lillie Sutton, 3731 Hickorynut Drive, La Grange, NC at 10:45 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC beginning on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.
