In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Rowe, Bowden, Jones and Parks families to announce Mrs. Glenda Kaye Jones-Parks of Goldsboro, North Carolina, age 56, has completed her earthly journey.
She was lovingly known by her grandchildren and friends as “Grandmother Glenda”.
Mrs. Glenda transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Glenda was born in Wayne County, North Carolina March 20, 1964 to the late Mr. Leo Jones and Mrs. Juanita Rowe Jones.
She received her education in the Wayne County Public School System.
During her working years, she was self employed as a lady electrician in the Goldsboro and surrounding communities. She served her communities well until her health began to fail.
Mother Parks was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Leo “Hot Foot” Jones; her mother, Mrs. Juanita Rowe Jones; her sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Swinson, Mrs. Brenda Miller Watkins and Ms. Linda Faye Jones (her twin); her brother, Mr. Lee Arthur Jones.
A public viewing will be conducted Friday, August 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
Also, a celebration of life service will be held Friday, August 28, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. Reverend William Sutton will officiate.
Interment or burial will be scheduled at a later date and performed doing a private ceremony.
Mother Parks leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her daughter, Ms. Nickey Nevada Jones of Kinston, North Carolina; her granddaughters, Ms. Akela Jones of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Darriel Fuller of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Ms. Coriona Thomas of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her great grandchildren, Paris Russell, London Darden and Kaliyah Hall; her brothers, Mr. Earl Miller and wife, Dorine of Oxon Hill, Maryland and Mr. Arthur Lee Jones of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her aunts, Mrs. Margie Bowden Johnson of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Carolyn Bowden White of Fort Washington, Maryland, Mrs. Hilda Bowden-Sumlin of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Mrs. Gladys Bowden Bryant of South Carolina; her uncles, Mr. James Bowden and wife, Elvira of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mr. Roy Bowden of Parkstown, North Carolina; special friends, Mrs. Mary Dawson of Jason, North Carolina and Mr. Dwight Parks (Mr. Rock) of Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
On August 28, 2020, the family members and friends will assemble at Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 9:50 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
