In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Bryant, Walker, and Coor families to announce Mrs. Eva Mae Walker Coor, age 92, of Goldsboro, North Carolina has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Eva Mae”. 

Mrs. Coor transitioned from labor to reward, March 9, 2024, at Kitty Atkins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 

Eva was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, May 26, 1931, to the late Mr. John Walker and Mrs. Retha Bryant Walker.

Eva received some of her education in Wayne County Public School System.  She attended and graduated from Central High School in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 

Following graduation, Eva furthered her education by enrolling and graduating from the Cosmotology School.  She earned her degree as a Licensed Cosmetologist. 

During her employment years, Mrs. Eva openedand operated her own Beauty Salon Business.

During her Christian walk in life, she was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Goldsboro, North Carolina. 

She served on the Women’s Auxiliary at Mount Pleasant and the Women’s Home and Foreign Mission Auxiliary at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association.  She was always eager to serve with a gentle and compassionate spirit. Eva became involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of Isis and Mizpah Court 79, North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology Association and Central Alumni and Friends, Inc.

Ms. Coor was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Walker and Mrs. Retha Bryant Walker; her sister, Ms. Pearline Walker; her brother, Mr. Melvin Walker Sr.; her nephew, SP4 Linwood Walker of the US Army; her great-niece, Ms. Aimya Yelverton.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to  11:50 a.m. in Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 4460 NC 13 North, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 4460 NC 13 North, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534.   Pastor Clifford C. Hunt, Jr. will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Davis’ Family Cemetery, 1547 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her daughter, Perrita Coor of Goldsboro, NC; granddaughter, Brianna Coor of Greensboro, NC; goddaughter, Betty Jo Coley of Goldsboro, NC; sister-in-law, Mother Dorothy Walker of Goldsboro, NC; nieces, Miriam Walker of Goldsboro, NC and Deacon Dixie Barnes (Gary) of Goldsboro, NC; nephews, Deacon Melvin Walker, II (Mother Lora Walker) of Goldsboro, NC and John Walker of Raleigh, NC; great-nieces, Brittany Simms of Atlanta, GA and Mieisha Walker of Goldsboro, NC; great-nephews, Gary Barnes, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, Melvin Walker, lll of Raleigh, NC, Eric Barnes (Shay) of the United Kingdom and Gregory Simms of Goldsboro, NC; great-great nephew, Jayden Yelverton of Goldsboro, NC; her special home care provider, Mrs. Rita Coleman of Goldsboro, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
