In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Everett, Sutton, Jones and Williams families to announce Mrs. Dollie Sutton Williams, of La Grange, North Carolina, age 78, has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Lady Bug and Mata”. 

Mrs. Williams transitioned from labor to reward January 7, 2022 at her residence in La Grange, North Carolina. 

Dollie was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, May 20, 1943 to the late Mr. Junious Sutton and Mrs. Viola Everett.

She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System. 

During Dollie’s younger years, she enjoyed planting and growing flowers. Also, she enjoyed listening to her favorite gospel song, “I Won’t Complain.” Mrs. Dollie loved cooking and preparing tasty desserts.

Mrs. Dollie was one who enjoyed family outing and being around family members and friends.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Junious Sutton and Mrs. Viola Rose Everett-Sutton; her brothers, Mr. Winston Sutton and Mr. Leroy Sutton; her sister, Mrs. Letha Mae Flowers.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.   Pastor Cecil A. Hinton will officiate.  

Interment or Burial will be held at a later date in a private ceremony.

Mother Williams leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her husband of the home, Mr. Eddie Lee Williams; her two daughters, Mrs. Janice Jones of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Mrs. Charlene Lane of Jacksonville, North Carolina; her four sons, Mr. Marvin Jones of Goldsboro North Carolina, Mr. Troy Jones of Dudley, North Carolina, Mr. Alejandro “Al” Jones and wife, Mrs. Shannon, of Princeton, North Carolina and Mr. George Jones of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her five sisters, Mrs. Margaret A. Williams of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Etta Simmons of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Hazel Gonzalez and husband, Mr. Ramon, of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Kathleen Sutton of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Mrs. Patricia Brown and husband, Mr. Sylvester, of Dudley, North Carolina; her brother, Mr. Allen Sutton and wife, Mrs. Hedy, of Dudley, North Carolina; her aunt, Mrs. Vermell Hall of Warsaw, North Carolina;  her fifteen grandchildren; her fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Thursday, January 13, 2022, the family members and friends will assemble at  the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. at 11:40 a.m. in preparation for the line-up and the Celebration of Life Service.
