Mrs. Aleather M Becton

Mrs. Aleather Mable Becton, age 94, lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Sis,”of 402 South Wooten Street, La Grange, North Carolina passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Aleather was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, on October 12, 1922 to the late Mr. Haywood Mable and Mrs. Viola Jones-Mable.

Mrs. Becton was preceded in death by, her husband, Mr. Guy R. Becton; her Children, Cherie Becton and Linwood Earl Becton, Sr.; her sisters, Armertrice Mable-Waters and Margaret Mable-Lewis; her brothers, Eddie Mable, James Mable and Albert Mable.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. from the Saint Luke Free Will Baptist Church, 306 West King Street, La Grange, NC. Dr. Joe N. Dixon will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, NC.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC.

Mrs. Aleather Becton leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to:  her five grandchildren, Ramont Becton, Linwood Becton, Jr. and wife, Marie, Cherie Becton Wright and husband, Gregory, Lisa Becton and Jerome Becton; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Becton-Young; her great grandchildren, Tangula, Cherie, Linwood III, Ramont, Jr., Jerome, Reginald, Jasmine and Andre; her great-great grand children, De'Mari, Mason and Denym; her siblings, Amanda Croom and Yvonne Washington; her sister-in-law, Etta Becton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

At other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Johnnetta Wooten, 301 East Railroad Street, La Grange, NC.

Flowers may be sent to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC, beginning on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Saturday, June 17, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Johnnetta Wooten, 301 East Railroad Street, La Grange, NC at 9:50 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
