In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Thomas and Britt families to announce Mr. Roosevelt H. Thomas of Raleigh, North Carolina, age 87, has completed his earthly journey.  Mr. Thomas transitioned from labor to reward Friday, November12, 2021 at his residence in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Roosevelt.” 

He was born in Harnett County, North Carolina, April 27, 1934, to the late Mrs. Ruth Thomas Montgomery.

He was educated in the Harnett County School System and attended Shawtown High School in Lillington, North Carolina.

Mr. Roosevelt united with and attended Rush Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.   

During Mr. Thomas’ working years, he worked as a Master Mechanic Manager for Bobby Murray Chevrolet in Raleigh, North Carolina.   

A public visitation will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

Also, a Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Carolina Biblical Gardens Cemetery, 1530 Creech Road Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529.  

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Carolina Biblical Gardens Cemetery, 1530 Creech Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529.  

Thursday, November 18, 2021, the family members and friends will assemble in the Carolina Biblical Gardens Cemetery, 1530 Creech Road Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529 at 10:30 a.m. in preparation for the family lineup and the Celebration of Life Service.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning Wednesday morning, November 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

1.  If you do not want to stand during the service, please consider bringing a folding chair.  Chairs will be provided for immediate family members.  

2.  There will be no repast following the Celebration of Life Service.
