In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Floyd, Torke, and Shaw families to announce Mr. Eugene Allen Shaw of Bronx, New York, age 62 , has completed his earthly journey. 

Surrounded by his loving and caring family members, Mr. Shaw transitioned from labor to reward, Sunday, April 23, 2023, at NYU Langone Health Center in New York City, New York.  

Eugene was born in Brooklyn, New York, December 25, 1960, to the late Mr. Eugene Shaw, Jr. and Mrs. Janie Floyd-Shaw.

He received his education in the New York City Public School System and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Elmira College.

During Mr. Shaw’s working years, he worked as a Professional Wine Importer and Sales Representative.  He was also a Rock & Roll Photographer for many different national and international publications.

Mr. Eugene Shaw and his wife Marcia, were married for over 32 years and met at Elmira College. Their two sons, Steven and Christopher, were the center of their world. 

Mr. Eugene Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Eugene Shaw, Jr. and Mrs. Janie Floyd-Shaw; his grandparents, Mr. Leander Wooten and Mrs. Mable Shaw Wooten and his aunt, Mrs. Edna Shaw Walker.

The North Carolina Service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.   Bishop Jeff Howard will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

A New York City Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held in the very near future. Please refer to Eugene Shaw’s Facebook for additional details which will be posted soon. 

Mr. Shaw leaves a legacy of love and precious memories to his wife, of the home, Mrs. Marcia Shaw; his sons, Mr. Steven Shaw and Mr. Christopher Shaw; his sisters, Mrs. Kathy Shaw Burnside, Ms. Judy Shaw, Mrs. Janet Thompson and Ms. Rita Shaw; his nephews, Mr. CJ McVey, Mr. Aaron Iman and Mr.  Wade Smith; his nieces, Mrs. Alana Bennett, Mrs. Nicole Jourdain, Mrs. Rhea Jean, Ms. Danesha Shaw and Ms. Shorna Shaw; his great- nephews, Mr. Myles Bennett, Mr. Ryan Bennett, Mr. Tyson Jourdain, Mr. Tyrell Jourdain, Mr. Tenzel Shaw and Mr. Carter Jean; his great-nieces, Ms. Alaysia Jourdain and Ms. Riyah Jean and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sunday, April 30, 2023, the family members and friends will assemble at the La Grange residence, 207 North Hadden Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 10:50 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession to Britt Funeral Home memorial chapel.
