Mr. Angel Luis Benitez

 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (II Timothy 4:7-8)

The Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Benitez Family to announce the passing of Mr. Angel Luis Benitez, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.  He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Bolo.”

Mr. Benitez age 80, transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Hunter Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

He was born in Loiza County on the Island of Puerto Rico on September 24, 1939 to the late Mr. Miguel Angel Rosario, Sr. and Mrs. Juana Davila.

Angel received his education on the Island of Puerto Rico in the Public School System.  

As a young adult, he met, dated and married his sweetheart, the love of his life, Mrs. Maria Calderon.

He was employed with the Grande Grocery Store as a Professional Master Butcher in Puerto Rico for over 30 years.

Angel’s favorite hobbies were boxing, going to the park to feed the ducks and visiting the beaches in Puerto Rico.

During his middle age, Angel accepted the Lord as his personal savior at the Pentecostal International Church in Puerto Rico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Juana Davila and Mr. Miguel Rosario and his wife, Mrs. Maria Calderon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Evangelist Jackie Bailey, Clergy, will officiate. 

Interment will follow on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the La Grange Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

Also, a public viewing will be conducted on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Brother Angel leaves to cherish his loving and wonderful memories to his siblings; Juana Muñiz and husband, Pipo, of Loiza, Puerto Rico, Gloria Estel Muñiz, Widowed, of Loiza Puerto Rico, Victor Muñiz and wife, Margot, of Loiza Perto Rico, Maria Lacen of Loiza, Puerto Rico, Juana Lacen of Loiza, Puerto Rico, Elva Rodriguez, widowed, of Connecticut, Reinaldo Rosario and wife, Milagros, of New York, Miguel Ángel Rosario, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Gaynabo, Puerto Rico, Victor Rosario and wife, Juana, of New York, Jose Rosario and wife, Lilly, of New York and step-brother, Francisco Leon and wife, Monce, of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico;  stepchildren, Olga Ganeous and husband, Windale of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Ketsi Ortiz of Loiza, Puerto Rico, Mr. and Mrs. Robert, Nelson Perez and wife, Migdalia, of Canovanas, Puerto Rico, Jose Clemente of Loiza, Puerto Rico; a host of step grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

On Saturday, February 8, 2020 the family members and friends will assemble in the parking lot at Britt Funeral Home, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551 at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral service.
