In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Joyner, Taylor, Mercer, Barksdale, Miller and the Ellis families to announce Mother Gwendolyn L. Ellis, Age 80, of La Grange, North Carolina passed on Monday, January 13, 2025, at a residence in Elm City, North Carolina.

A public visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.    

Also, A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.   Minister Charles Johnson will officiate.  (Reverend Wilbert Johnson is the Church's Pastor)

Interment or Burial will follow the Celebration of Life service on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in La Grange Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
