In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the McGowan, Jones, McCormick and Branch families to announce Mr. Curtis Glenn Branch, age 67, of Mount Olive, North Carolina has completed his earthly journey. 

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Curt”. 

Mr. Branch transitioned from labor to reward, March 1, 2024, at his residence in Mount Olive, North Carolina. 

“Curt” was born in Duplin County, North Carolina, October 12, 1956, to the late Mr. Lawrence Jefferson Branch and Mrs. Mary Emma McGowan Branch.

Mr. Branch received his education in the Duplin County Public School System and graduated in the Class of 1974 at East Duplin High School.

Later in life, “Curt” met, dated and married the love of his life, Mrs. Mattie Mae Jones Branch.  To that union, three beautiful children were born.

During his employment years, Mr. Branch served as a Farm Laborer and worked at Guilford East Company.

During his “Down Time” in life, Mr. Branch enjoyed cooking and making different dishes.  He considered himself a “Master Chef”.

Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lawrence Jefferson Branch and Mrs. Mary Emma McGowan Branch; his wife, Mrs. Mattie Mae Jones Branch; his brothers, Mr. Delaney Dewyon Branch, Mr. Joseph Ray Branch, Mr. Antonio Donnell Branch and Mr. Lawrence Dexter Branch; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie McCormick Branch.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, 366 Bennetts Bridge Road, Mount Olive, North Carolina 28365. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Church, 366 Bennetts Bridge Road, Mount Olive, North Carolina 28365.  Pastor Dr. Larry Johnson will officiate. 

Interment - Private Ceremony

Brother Branch leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his daughter, Ms. Valeria Elaine McCormick of Goldsboro, North Carolina; his sons, Mr. Curtiss Lee Branch and fiancee, Ms. Rhonda, of Mebane, North Carolina and Mr. Rashad Leon Branch and wife, Mrs. Michaela, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; his brother, Mr. Jefferson Leanell Branch and wife, Mrs. Georgia, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his sister, Mrs. Mary Branch Hines and husband, Mr. Robert, of Goldsboro, North Carolina; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Tracey Manley Branch of California; his adopted sister, Mrs. Kathryn Wallace Miller; his grandchildren, Tatyana and  husband, Benjamin, Christian, MacKenzie, Taylor, Niasha, Rashad, Jr., Kobe, Rachel, MaKayla and Trey; his two great-grandchildren; his uncle, Mr. Oneal Branch, Sr. of Mount Olive, North Carolina; his great-aunt, Mrs. Betty Best of Kenansville, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to St. Stephen Church, 366 Bennetts Bridge Road, Mount Olive, North Carolina 28365 beginning Saturday morning, March 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
