Mr. Willie "Bud" Grady

In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Grady Family to announce that Mr. Willie Grady of La Grange, North Carolina, at age 91, has completed his earthly journey.

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Uncle Bud”.

Mr. Grady transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

He was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina on December 31, 1927 to the late Mr. Walter Grady and Mrs. Ethel Williams-Grady.

Willie received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System.

During Willie’s working years, he was employed as a cab driver for several years. 

Mr. Grady served his country by enlisting into the United States Army.  After serving his tour of duty, he received his honorable separation documents from the military.

Mr. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Walter Grady and Mrs. Ethel Williams-Grady; four (4) siblings; wife, Rose Ann Grady; and daughter, Velma Hankins.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Saint Rest United Holiness Church, 305 Boundary Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Elder Franklin W. Flowers, Pastor, will officiate.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. in the Saint Rest United Holiness Church, 305 Boundary Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

On Monday, July 29, 2019, interment will be held in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534. 

Mr. Grady leaves a legacy of love and memories to his son, Kenneth Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, the family members and friends will assemble in the parking lot of Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 8:45 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession to the cemetery.
