Our hearts are heavy and burdened with grief. The space that you fill in our hearts will remain forever. It is sadness we say goodbye, but joy that we were bleassed with your presence. You are missed tremendously. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to your mom and family as they prepare to carry on without you. We love you John "Jay" Johnson. May you rest peacefully in heaven.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Jay. I was heartbroken to hear this sad news. Jay was a one in a million guy with a heart of gold. Heaven has truly gained an angel. Sleep in perfect peace my friend you will forever be remembered with love and respect.
Your legacy you left us with its plan for all to see
That we should treat each other with love and courtesy
My heart it may be broken but my memories are clear
You'll never ever leave us we'll always hold you near
And so I say goodbye to you for just a little while
When God decides to take me home I'll see again your smile.
Goodnight God bless Jay xx

It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I have to express to your family and friends the minute that I worked with you in USARCENT G1. Your calmness and that smile was something that would sooth an old wounded warrior like me... God has gained another Angel to guard the Pearly Gates... Family and Friends, Mr Johnson will be greatly missed. I pray your strength as you carry on in Jesus Name...

I Was so sadden about the passing of Jay he was a friend of my sister Corinne Freeman they was in the Army together. I meet Jay in 1999 I went to Georgia to visit my sister and he was the first one to take me out. He was always funny made you laugh he was good to hang around. Every Time I would go to Georgia my sister would call Jay and he would ride from South Carolina to greet me.

To the family and the Thousands of Friends. John "JJ" Johnson was the kind of friend all people in this world hope for. I met John at his first Army Duty Station Fort Campbell KY in 1986. We struck up a friendship that lasted throughout my career and his. After service we kept in touch all the time in fact I had just talked to John a few days prior to his demise about a mutual friend of ours we had lost contact with. He was like a brother from another mother for me. We were so tight that this pain of his absence is unbearable however I know that he is in the caring and loving arms of our maker. I will dearly miss my friend.
