Mr. Jesse Lee Rouse

Mr. Jesse Lee Rouse, age 79, lovingly known by his family and close friends as "Ole Nite" of 306 North Hadden Street, La Grange, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at his residence.

Jesse was born in Greene County on February 17, 1938 to the late Mr. James Rouse and Mrs. Ardelia Bynum-Edwards.

Jesse was educated in the Greene County Public School system.

During Mr. Rouse’s working years, he worked as a Supervisor for Jonah Hamm Masonry.

During Brother Rouse’s church up bring, he was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in La Grange, North Carolina.

Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his two sons, Aubrey Eugene Rouse and Jeffrey Leon Rouse.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 18, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. in the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 209 South Carey Street, La Grange, North Carolina.  Rev, Dr. Michael A. Johnson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Rouse leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his wife of 60 years and also of the home, Mrs. Sarah Whitehead-Rouse; his three daughters, Bonita Gail Rouse-Harris and husband, Ruben, Sheryl Nadine Crawford and husband, Otis, and Tijuanna Pratt and husband, David; his four sons, Dexter Arnet Rouse and wife, Catherine, Thornnie Oswald Rouse and wife, Rene’, Rodney Maurice Rouse and Reggie Jamal Rouse; nineteen grand children; nine great grand children; two sisters; a brother in law; two sisters in law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

On Monday, December 18, 2017, family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Sarah Rouse, 306 North Hadden Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 10:45 p.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina, beginning on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
