In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Braswell and Bell families to announce Mother Margaret Ann Braswell-Bell, formerly of Goldsboro, North Carolina, age 78, has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Ann and Queen B”. 

Mother Bell transitioned from labor to reward January 24, 2021 at Longleaf Neuro Med Treatment Center in Wilson, North Carolina. 

Ann was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, June 25, 1942 to the late Mr. Collin Austin, Sr. and Ms. Rosa Braswell.

She received her education in the Wayne County Public School System.  Ann graduated from Dillard High School in the Class of 1960.  

During her younger years, Ann attended Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina.  During Mother Ann’s mature years, she united with Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  She was an active member until her health declined.

Mrs. Ann was a retired healthcare technician, a business owner and an active member of the Harriet Tubman Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

A public viewing will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the Dillard Alumni – HV Brown Center, 801 Poplar Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Dillard Alumni – HV Brown Center, 801 Poplar Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530.  Elder James E. Collins will officiate.  

Interment will follow the celebration of life service in the Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534.  

Mother Bell leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her children, Carol (Lionel) Brown of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Deric (Loriann) Griffin of Spring Hill, Florida and Brian (Aciela Pooler) Griffin of Christiansburg, Virginia; her aunts, Mabel Austin and Virginia Rouse of Wayne County North Carolina; her sisters, Carolyn Robertson and Sue (Fred) Robertson both of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Belinda (Allen) Austin-Garner of Commerce, Georgia; her brothers, Robert Robertson of Tampa, Florida, Copeman Robertson of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Collin Austin, Jr. of Queens, New York; her three grandchildren, Keyanna (Philip) Terry, Tyrell and Kevin Washington all of Durham, North Carolina; her seven great-grandchildren, Phasia, Jayden, Ahmad, Phallon, Kaiden, Khalil, and Pharen; a host of nieces, nephews, family members, cousins, other relatives  and friends.

On Saturday, January 30, 2021, the family members and friends will assemble at Dillard Alumni – HV Brown Center, 801 Poplar Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530 at 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the viewing and the Celebration of Life Service.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning on Friday morning, January 29, 2021from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
