In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Arthur, Best and Person families to announce Mrs. Jeanie Lucille Arthur Person, of Kinston, North Carolina, age 71, has completed her earthly journey. 

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Jean”. 

Mrs. Person transitioned from labor to reward, April 19, 2022, at her residence in Kinston, North Carolina. 

Jeanie was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, March 2, 1951, to the late Mr. Charles Arthur, Sr. and Mrs. Everlena Best-Arthur.

She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System. 

Jeanie graduated from Frink High School in the Class of 1969.

She furthered her education and business skills by enrolling into cosmetology classes in the State of Maryland.

Later in life, Mrs. Person united with Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board.

Mrs. Person was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Charles Arthur, Sr. and Mrs. Everlena Best-Arthur; her brother, Mr. James Arthur.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., at Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2704 NC 903 Hwy-South La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Also, a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2704 NC 903 Hwy-South, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Dr. Harold O. Warren, Pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Sister Person leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her husband, of the home, Mr. Bobby Person of Kinston, North Carolina; her daughter, Mrs. Jasmine Smith of La Grange, North Carolina; her son, Mr. Roger Sutton of La Grange, North Carolina; her sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Simmons of La Grange, North Carolina, Mrs. Elma B. Lee of Snow Hill, North Carolina, Mrs. Charlene Pearsall and husband, Mr. Dallas of La Grange, North Carolina and Mrs. Annie Wells of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her brothers, Mr. Charles H. Arthur, Jr. and wife, Mrs. Margo of Richmond, Virginia and Mr. Curtis Arthur of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Saturday, April 23, 2022, the family members and friends will assemble at  the residence of Mrs. Charlene and Mr. Dallas Pearsall, 213 West Boundary Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551, at 10:00 a.m., in preparation for the funeral procession to the church.
