In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Bizzell, Gibbs and Taylor families to announce Mr. Robert Earl Taylor of La Grange, North Carolina, age 82, has completed his earthly journey. 

Mr. Taylor transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his residence.  

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Uncle Bob”. 

Robert was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, May 30, 1939, to the late Mr. Vie Lee Taylor and Mrs. Leora Bizzell Taylor.

He received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System.

During Mr. Taylor’s working years, he worked as a Master Cab Driver for Mutual Cab Company.

He loved to cook and grill out.  “Uncle Bob” enjoyed listening to church music and taking pictures with his computer table.  Also, he enjoyed family outings, family cookouts, seeing and being around his family members and friends.

Brother Taylor was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. Vie  Lee Taylor and Mrs. Leora Bizzell Taylor.

 A public visitation will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

Also, a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Saint Matthew FWB Church Cemetery, 2758 Jenny Lind Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Brother Taylor leaves to cherish his sweet and loving memories to his two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Jones and husband, Charles and Mrs. Barbara Nelson all of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sisters, Ms. Elizabeth T. Gibbs of La Grange, North Carolina and Mrs. Patsy Phillips and husband, Elmer, of Norfolk, Virginia; a brother, Mr. Aaron Taylor of Greensboro, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; ten great-   grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Saturday, January 22, 2022, the family members and friends will assemble at Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 12:20 p.m. in preparation for the family lineup and the Celebration of Life Service.
