Mr. Christopher Terrell Cotton

In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Cotton Family to announce that Mr. Christopher Terrell Cotton of La Grange, North Carolina, at age 44, has completed his earthly journey. 

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Chris”. 

“Chris” transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.  

Christopher was born in Wayne County, North Carolina on November 20, 1975 to the late Mr. Eugene Cotton, Sr. and Mrs. Jackie Cobb-Cotton.

He received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System in La Grange, North Carolina.

During Mr. Chris’ working years, he joined Frink Middle School in La Grange, North Carolina.  He served as a Head Custodian and assistant coach.  Later, he gained employment at Eastern Wayne Elementary School in Wayne County until his death.

Mr. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Eugene Cotton, Sr. and one day after Mr. Chris’ death his Mother, Mrs. Jackie Cobb-Cotton passed; his sister, Ms. Jacqueline Cotton; his sister-in-law, Ms. Diane Cotton. 

A public viewing will be conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in the Jones’ Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church, 3550 Poole Road, Kinston, North Carolina 28504.  Bishop William E. Jones will officiate.

Interment will follow the celebration of life service on Sunday, June 14, 2020, in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Brother Chris leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his loving children, Ms. Jasmine Cotton of La Grange, North Carolina, Mr. KiEntae, Mr. KeShawn and Mr. Keyon Burns of Kinston, North Carolina; his three brothers, Mr. Eugene Cotton, Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Mr. Linwood Cotton and wife, Diane-deceased, of Snow Hill, North Carolina, and Mr. Eric Cotton and wife, Mellissa, of Greensboro, North Carolina; his two sisters, Ms. Cynthia D. Reverly of Richmond, Virgina. and Ms. Angela D. Cotton of the home; two aunts, Mrs. Sadie Isler and husband, Cliff, of Kinston, North Carolina and Ms. Peggy Terry of Snow Hill, North Carolina; his uncle: Mr. Bobby Cotton of Boston, Massachusetts; his five nieces; his two great nieces; his two great nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family members will assemble at the resident of Ms. Angela Cotton, 511 West Queen Street, La Grange, North Carolina at 11:15 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
