In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Johnson Family to announce that Mr. Antonia Kareem Johnson, age 45, of Snow Hill, North Carolina, has completed his earthly journey.
He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Tony.”
Mr. Johnson transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
He was born in Wayne County, North Carolina on April 17, 1974 to Mr. Charles E. Johnson and Mrs. Janice C. Jackson.
Antonia received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System. He attended North Lenoir High School.
During “Tony’s” working years, he was employed as a Sanitation Engineer with Sanderson Hatchery Company in Kinston, North Carolina.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Joseph Jackson and Mrs. Rebecca Mae Jackson, Mr. June Johnson and Mrs. Mamie Ruth Johnson; his aunt, Ms. Sandra Jackson; his uncle, Mr. James Jackson.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. Reverend Benjamin I. Thomson will officiate.
Interment will follow the celebration of life service in the Old La Grange Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
Also, one hour prior to the celebration of life service, a public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
Mr. Johnson leaves a legacy of love and memories to his parents, Reverend Charles Elyn Johnson and Mrs. Janice Carol Jackson-Johnson of Snow Hill, North Carolina; his siblings, Ms. LaTonya Denise Johnson of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Ms. Tiffany Diana Johnson of Snow Hill, North Carolina; his children, Antonio David Johnson, Keyona Shikiria Johnson, Kejonte Tquell Davis all of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Nakiya Renee Johnson of Greenville, North Carolina, Tyshun Johnson of Tampa, Florida and Aryana Lizzett Johnson-Vielma of Kinston, North Carolina; aunts, Mrs. Ann Thompson and husband, Ben, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ms. Wanda Rowe of Washington, DC and Ms. Pamela Shields of La Grange, North Carolina; his uncle, Mr. Joseph Jackson of Washington, DC and Mr. Jimmy Shields and wife, Suzette, of Orlando, Florida; nieces, Shatonya Chan-Tell Johnson of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Shatia Ayane-Nashae Johnson of Snow Hill, North Carolina, Destinie I’Yanna Wilson of Snow Hill, North Carolina and Gabrielle Elin Hall of Snow Hill, North Carolina; nephews, Melvin Thomas Frizzell Jr., Terius Malik Johnson, Xavier JaQuan Johnson all of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Kieontay DeCarlo Johnson of Snow Hill, North Carolina and Izaiah Andrew Coleman of Snow Hill, North Carolina; a host of other relatives and friends.
On Saturday, March 14, 2020, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Reverend and Mrs. Charles Elyn Johnson, 5400 Hwy 903-South, Snow Hill, North Carolina 28580 at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
