The Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Williams Family to announce the passing of Mrs. Hattie Louise Carter-Williams, of Wilson, North Carolina. She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Ma Ma.”
Mrs. Williams, age 99, transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, October 14, 2019 in the Curis Wilson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson, North Carolina.
She was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on December 3, 1919 to the late Mr. Jeremiah Carter and Mrs. Effie Carter.
Hattie received some of her education in the Wilson County Public School System.
During Mrs. Williams working years, she served as a Laborer for several Tobacco Companies in the Wilson area. Also, during her younger years, she enjoyed farming, cooking, music and spending time with her children.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jeremiah Carter and Mrs. Effie Carter; her husband, Mr. Elijah Williams, Sr.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the Antioch Outreach Church Ministries, 120 East Ash Street, Wilson, North Carolina. Rev. Dr. Michael A. Clanton, Pastor will officiate.
Interment will follow the celebration of life service in the La Grange Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina.
Also, a public viewing will be conducted on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the Antioch Outreach Church Ministries, 120 East Ash Street, Wilson, North Carolina.
Mother Hattie leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her children, Mrs. Geraldine Bryant and husband, Wallace of Wilson, North Carolina, Mrs. Carolyn Alston and husband, David of Wilson, North Carolina, Mr. Elijah Williams, Jr. and wife, Glenda of Wilson, North Carolina, Mr. Frankie Williams and Mr. Plummer Williams, both of Wilson, North Carolina; her sisters, Josephine Tyson and Lula Mae Johnson and husband, Joseph all of Wilson, North Carolina; her grandchildren; her great grandchildren; her great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
On Sunday, October 20, 2019, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. David Alston, 906 North Gold Street, Wilson, North Carolina at 10:50 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
