In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Barnes Family to announce that Mr. Redmond Junior Barnes of Garner, North Carolina, age 39, has completed his earthly journey.  He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Fathead.” 

Mr. Barnes transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Wilson, North Carolina.  

He was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on October 21, 1978 to Mr. Wallace Bryant and the late Ms. Ollie Barnes. 

He received his education in the Wilson County public school system. 

Redmond was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Barnes; his sisters, Virginia Ann Barnes and Judy Bryant; his brother, Isaiah Bryant; his aunts, Catherine, Ruth Mae, Alma Barnes and Barbara Jean Smith; his uncles, Jonah, David, Leroy, Rennie and Vernon Barnes; his nephew, Eric McKinley Barnes; and sadly, his nephew, Elliott Dwayne Barnes, who transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, September 1, 2018, also.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Wilson Chapel Baptist Church, 513 East Barnes Street, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.  Minister Angier Harris will officiate. 

Interment will follow the celebration of life service in the Hamilton Burial Gardens, 1603 Lane Street Extension, Wilson, North Carolina, 27893.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Wilson Chapel Baptist Church, 513 East Barnes Street, Wilson, North Carolina

Redmond leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his loving wife, Carla Barnes of Garner, NC; his son, Demontae Barnes of Garner, NC; his daughters, Teyara Barnes and Keyara Barnes both of Garner, NC; his stepson, Malik Harris of Garner, NC; his father, Wallace Bryant (Geraldine) of Wilson, NC; his sister, Patricia Ann Barnes of Wilson, NC; his brothers, Willie Bryant and Johnny Bryant both of Wilson, NC; his niece, Wendy Williams of Wilson, NC; his nephew, Antonio Devon Barnes of Wilson, NC; his uncle, Charlie Barnes of Wilson, NC; his aunts, Annie Mae Ellis, Mary Coleman, and Bernice McCall all of Wilson, NC; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Carr (Tim) of Zebulon, NC and Betty Sessoms (Al) of Wilson, NC; his special friends, Rodell Sharpe, Cashmiere, and Karana Blackston all of Wilson, NC; his God-sister, Toya Evans of Wilson, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bryant of 610 Hyatt Drive, Wilson, North Carolina at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
