In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Greene, Dickerson, Sutton and Richardson families to announce Mr. Rudolph Richardson, age 88, of Goldsboro, North Carolina has completed his earthly journey. 

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Rudolph”. 

Mr. Richardson transitioned from labor to reward, February 27, 2024 at Somerset Court of Goldsboro in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 

Rudolph was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, October 16, 1935, to the late Mr. Vertis Richardson and Mrs. Sarah Greene-Richardson.

Rudolph received some of his education in the Wayne County Public School System.

During his employment years, Mr. Rudolph served as a Machine Operator for a tire company.

During his Christian walk in life, he was a member of Wilson Bible Study Church in Wilson, North Carolina and served as a Church Usher. 

During his “Down Time” in life, he enjoyed playing the games called Dominoes and Checkers.

Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Vertis Richardson and Mrs. Sarah Green-Richardson; his grandchildren, Mr. Christopher Richardson, Mr. Kenneth Martin Forte, Jr. and Mr. Torres Richardson; his brother, Mr. David Richardson; his sisters, Ms. Ruth Richardson and Mrs. Doris Atkinson.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. in the Little Rock Church of Christ, 1307 NC 581 Highway, Pikeville, North Carolina 27863. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Little Rock Church of Christ, 1307 NC 581 Highway, Pikeville, North Carolina 27863.    Pastor Antonio T. Forsythe will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fremont Cemetery, 179 Winding Branch Avenue, Fremont, North Carolina 27830.

Brother Rudolph leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his wife, Mrs. Mary Richardson of the home; seven children, Mrs. Ann Coles and her husband, Isaac, of Kenbridge, Virginia, Mrs. Brenda Reid and her husband, Mike, of South Jordan, Utah, Mrs. Joyce Richardson-Best and her husband, Samuel, of Wilson, North Carolina, Mr. Rudolph Richardson, Jr. and his wife, Cynthina, of Wilson, North Carolina, Mrs. Linda Artis and her husband, Charles, of Selma, North Carolina, Mr. Tony Richardson of Kenly, North Carolina and Mrs. Debbie Bunn and her husband,  Jack, of Wilson, North Carolina; his three stepchildren, Mrs. O’Linda Harris and her husband, Robert, of Temple Hills, Maryland, Mrs. Melody Gilcreast and her husband, Michael, of Apopka, Florida; and Mr. Vernon Sutton of the home; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; his brother, Mr. Ray Richardson and his wife, Sanibell; his sister, Mrs. Edna Durham; his special sisters, Mrs. Glenda Mackintosh, Mrs. Vernell Smith and Mrs. Brenda Sharpe; his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Wanda Forsythe, Mrs. Joyal Newkirk and her husband, Jerome, and Mrs. Angeline Wilder and her husband, Mack; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Saturday, March 2, 2024, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Mary Richardson, 3229 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina at 11:15 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession to Little Rock Church of Christ, Pikeville, North Carolina.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning Friday morning, March 1, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
