In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the Ore, Davis  and Sutton families to announce Mr. Quincey Leo “Bud” Sutton, age 82, of La Grange, North Carolina has completed his earthly journey. 

He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Bud”. 

Mr. Sutton transitioned from labor to reward, December 30, 2023 at Kitty Atkins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

“Bud” was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, January 15, 1941, to the late Mr. Sherman R. Sutton and Mrs. Ella Mae Sutton.

Mr. Sutton received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System.

During his working years, Mr. “Bud” served as a Master Farmer on Jimmy Wiggins’ Farm in Lenoir County, North Carolina.

Mr. “Bud” had hobbies that he enjoyed.  He enjoyed playing his guitar for his family members and friend.  He enjoyed having his family members and friends over to share his cooked meals.

Mr. “Bud” was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Sherman R. Sutton and Mrs. Ella Mae Sutton; his siblings, Mr. John D. Sutton, Mr. Jack Wooten, Ms. Slyvia Sutton, Mr. Robert Lee Sutton and Mr. Donald Davis; his children, Mr. Christopher Chambers and Mrs. Lucy Mae Miller.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551. Elder Leroy Randolph, Sr. will officiate. 

Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 295 West James Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.    

Mr. Sutton leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to  his daughter, Mrs. Rosezella Sutton Ore and husband, Mr. Pereze, of Maryland; his son, Mr. Quincey Leo Sutton, Jr. of Virginia; the mother of Rosezella and Quincey, Jr., Maddie Bostic; his brothers, Mr. Timothy Davis and wife, Mrs. Rene, of Newbern, North Carolina and Mr. Ronald Davis and wife, Mrs. Pamela, of Ohio; his devoted caregivers, Ms. Verna Sutton, Ms. Gail Morgan, Mrs. Emma Sutton and husband, Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Shelia Hobbs and husband, Mr. Melvin;  his four grandchildren; his special friends, Mr. Brad Coffey, Mr. Jimmy Wiggins and wife,  Mrs. Maria; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Saturday, January 6, 2024, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. Quincey Leo “Bud” Sutton, 6175 Church Road, La Grange, North Carolina at 9:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession to Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina beginning Friday morning, January 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
