Mrs. Nora Heath White

Mother Nora Heath White, age 94, lovingly known by her family and friends as “Ma Nora” of 6629 Speight School Road, Wilson, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at her home, and surrounded by her daughter.

Nora was born in Greene County, North Carolina, on February 26, 1923 to the late Mr. Oscar Heath and Mrs. Leona Shadding-Heath.

She was educated in the Greene County Public School System.

During Mother Nora working years, she was the Owner and Manager of White’s Grocery.

Also, Mother White was a faithful member of Saint Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ in Faro, North Carolina where she served as an Usher for over 50 years.

Mrs. White was a proud member of the Silver Star Chapter Number 22 of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 40 years.

Mother Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Rogia Arthur White; her two sons, Larry White and Charles White.

Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Saint James Christian Church, 1739 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.  Elder Dr. Robert D. Hood will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Hamilton Burial Garden Cemetery, 800 Lane Street, Extension, Wilson, NC.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Saint James Christian Church, 1739 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. with the family present from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mother White leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to:  her two daughters, Brenda Faye White, and caregiver of the home, and Staris White Hogue and husband, Rodney of Springfield, Massachusetts; her five sons, Rogia White, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, Apostle Ralph White and wife, Rosemary of Part Low, Virginia, Leroy White of Wilson NC, Bobby Ray White of Waldolf, Maryland and Jerome White and wife, Angela of Stantonsburg, North Carolina;  her brother, Jonah Heath of Brooklyn, New York; her forty eight grandchildren; her eighty seven great grandchildren; her twenty two great-great grandchildren; her special grandson, Adrian White of Fort Meade, New Jersey; her four special nieces, Addie Heath Redman of Cambria Heights, New York, Carol Heath Clay of Englewood, California, Mary Barnes Brooks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Elsie White Lee of Clinton, Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

On Sunday, October 8, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mother Nora Heath White, 6629 Speight School Road, Wilson, NC at 12:45 p.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
