Mrs. Bertha Dickerson Sutton

Mrs. Bertha Dickerson Sutton, age 100, lovingly known by her family and friends as “Aunt Bert” of 3229 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Wayne UNC Health Care Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and surrounded by her family members.

Bertha was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, on October 23, 1917 to the late Mr. Will Harvey and Mrs. Zelphia Dickerson-Harvey

Mother Sutton was a loving, dedicated, faithful and the oldest member of Little Rock Church in Pikeville, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Anderson Sutton.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Word of Truth Christian Fellowship Church, 1401 North Carolina Street, Goldsboro, NC. Dr. Billy H. Newton will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Fremont Memorial Park Cemetery, 174 Winding Branch Road, Fremont North Carolina.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Little Rock Church , 1307 NC 581 Highway, Pikeville, NC with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mother Sutton leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her daughters, Mary Richardson and husband, Rudolph, Wanda Sutton Forsythe, Joyal Newkirk and husband, Jerome all of Goldsboro, NC and Angelene Wilder and husband, Mack of Washington DC; her Grandson, Michael Sutton of Goldsboro, NC; her sister, Georgia Harper of Fremont, NC; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and also, a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins other relatives and friends.

On Saturday, November 11, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Richardson of3229 Central Height Road, Lot 3, Goldsboro, North Carolina at 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
