Mr. Donald Ray McCoy

In profound sorrow, the Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service join with the McCoy Family to announce the earthy demise of Mr. Donald Ray McCoy, age 59, lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Donnie” of 900 Evergreen Avenue, Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Donnie transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Donnie was born in Moore County, North Carolina on January 15, 1959 to the living Mrs. Sarah Douglas-McCoy and the late Mr. Wilton McCoy, Sr.

He was educated in the Wayne County public school system and graduated from Goldsboro High School in the Class of 1977.

After graduating from high school, Donnie served his country by enlisting into the United States Army and he was honorably separated from service on September 26, 1980.

Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Wilton McCoy, Sr.; his three brothers, Wilton McCoy, Jr., Timothy McCoy and Larry McCoy.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina.  Pastor V. J. Carmicheal will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534.

One hour prior to the celebration of life service, a public viewing will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina.

Mr. McCoy leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his mother, Mrs. Sarah Douglas McCoy; his three sisters, Geralean McCoy of Dudley, NC, Shirley McCoy of Goldsboro, NC and Ann Austin of Fayetteville, NC; his three brothers, Ronald McCoy of Goldsboro, NC, Bruce McCoy of Atlanta, GA and Pinkney Kearns of Marston, NC; a special niece, Crystal McFadden of Lancaster, SC; two special nephews, Demitri Winn of Dudley, NC and Buetonian McCoy of Netcong, NJ; a great niece, A’marria Winn; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

At other times the family will receive other relatives and friends at the residence, 119 Daffodil Drive, Dudley, NC.

On Friday, March 2, 2018, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Sarah McCoy of 119 Daffodil Drive, Dudley, North Carolina at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
