Elder Lee Arthur Jones

Elder Lee Arthur Jones, age 54, lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Elder” of1365-B Parkstown Road, La Grange, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

Lee was born in Wayne County, North Carolina March 31, 1963 to the late Mr. Leo W. Jones and Mrs. Juanta Rowe-Jones. 

During Elder Jones’ dating years, he met, dated and married Mrs. Velma Jones and to that union four children were born.

Elder Jones was a member of Taylor’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in La Grange, North Carolina where he served as the Assistant Pastor.

During Elder Jones’ working years, he worked as a self-employed truck driver for many years.

Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Taylor’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 4976 Fields Station Road, La Grange, North Carolina.   Pastor Joseph A. Headen Jr. will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery, 1295 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial ChapelomH, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Elder Jones leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his devoted wife, Mrs. Velma J. Jones of the home; his daughters, LeVonda Jones, Shavonda Jones and Radaysha Jones; his son, Lee Arthur Tyshaun Jones; his nine grandchildren; his brothers, Earl Miller and Arthur Lee Jones; his sister, Glenda Parks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  `

On Sunday, October 15, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Velma Jones, of1365-B Parkstown Road, La Grange, North Carolina at 12:45 p.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to Britt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, NC, beginning on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
